Effective management of health and safety.
At PetroPlus®, the effective management of health and safety, the environment, human rights, and community engagement (collectively referred to as “HSEC”) is fundamental to our mission of sustainable and responsible business growth. We place the utmost priority on safeguarding the health, well-being, human rights, and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve. Similarly, we are committed to protecting and respecting the environment in all regions where we operate. In 2022, PetroPlus® achieved its health and safety objectives while making substantial progress in reducing the frequency and severity of process safety incidents. Every incident is thoroughly investigated, with lessons learned shared across all operational units to promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Product Safety 
PetroPlus® recognizes that many of the products we trade, particularly fuels, are highly flammable and may present additional risks, such as the carcinogenic properties of certain naphtha products. To ensure the safe handling of these materials, PetroPlus® communicates hazard information, precautionary measures, and risk management guidelines to clients through Safety Data Sheets (SDS). These SDS documents comply with globally harmonized standards established by the United Nations and adhere to regional regulations such as REACH in Europe and the Hazard Communication Standard in the United States. In jurisdictions like the European Union, products are marketed only after comprehensive registration dossiers are submitted, including data on human health and environmental hazards. Our extensive SDS library supports compliance and safety in multiple regions, while our REACH registrations enable the responsible manufacturing or importation of petroleum substances and biofuels. Through training, procedures, and audits, PetroPlu®s ensures regulatory compliance and, as of now, has reported no incidents related to product safety management.

Process Safety
Process safety at PetroPlus® focuses on managing low-probability events that could have significant impacts on people, the environment, assets, and reputation (PEAR). As a cornerstone of our HSEC governance, we diligently monitor performance by categorizing all process safety events (including incidents and near misses) using the American Petroleum Institute’s Tier 1, 2, and 3 classifications. Tier 1 incidents involve significant material releases with substantial consequences, while Tier 2 covers smaller releases, and Tier 3 addresses near misses. By treating all incidents seriously, regardless of severity, PetroPlus® underscores its commitment to mitigating risks and upholding safety standards across all operations.
